Database Registration
NATIONAL DATABASE
Accurate registration of horses in the national database is essential for traceability within Europe. Each country has its own registration system in which horses and their locations are recorded.
This registration makes it possible to monitor and trace horses, which is of great importance in the event of outbreaks of contagious animal diseases and for ensuring animal health.
Always the Right Registration

FROM TEMPORARY RESIDENCE TO IMPORT
Control over the entire process
For stays of less than 30 days, the horse must be included on the written stable roster of the location where it is staying. If the horse stays longer than 30 days, its current location must be registered in the national database through the RVO.
Good to Know
When importing a horse into the Netherlands, an import notification must be filed upon arrival. In addition, the horse must have the proper health documents, including, where applicable, a TRACES certificate.
